Sacramento-area foreclosures fell far below long-term averages in the first few months of this year, continuing to decrease as the housing and job markets recovered, DataQuick reported Tuesday.

In Sacramento County, 591 trustee deeds – which mark the formal end of the foreclosure process – were filed in the first quarter of 2014, the San Diego-based real estate information service said. That was 36 percent less than in the first three months of 2013 and well under the historic average of 872 trustee deeds filed per quarter since 1988, said DataQuick analyst Andrew LePage.  …read more
